High power laser therapy for plantar fasciopathy
Plantar fasciopathy is a condition that causes pain in your foot. Shock wave therapy is a treatment that can help you feel better, but it might be too uncomfortable if your condition is in the early (acute) stages.
To make it easier for you to handle, we recommend using high power laser therapy first. This helps to reduce your pain so that you can handle the shock wave therapy better. This will also make the treatment more effective in the long run.
Essential Information to Consider Before Undergoing High-Power Laser Therapy for Plantar Fasciopathy
An important aspect to keep in mind is that high-power laser therapy should only be administered by trained medical professionals and may not be appropriate for everyone.
- During the procedure, you should not experience any discomfort, warmth, or heat. To avoid skin irritation, the practitioner will select the appropriate wavelength, even for tattooed skin.
- Additionally, it is crucial for everyone in the room to wear suitable protective eyewear as closing your eyes is insufficient to safeguard your vision.

How long should the high power laser treatment session last?
This depends on the pathology and the chosen course of treatment (that is, whether the DolorClast® High Power Laser is combined with the use of other Guided DolorClast® Therapy devices). It also depends on the practitioner’s decision as to whether the treatment should be carried out manually or automatically. Once all these considerations are factored in, sessions can last from 3 to 30 minutes.
